Tastemaker to tastemakers and musical-icon, Tommie Sunshine is renowned for his reputation of being consistently ahead of the curve while still standing firmly in the zeitgeist.
Set apart by his iconoclastic productions, he is regarded as one of today’s most prolific remixers with over 300 commissioned remixes to date including Katy Perry, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santana & Fall Out Boy, and his original production career spans collaborations with such artists as Junkie XL, Arthur Baker, Felix da Housecat, Midnight Magic, Peaches, Kid Sister, Bart B More, Shinichi Osawa, The Disco Fries, James Murphy, and many more.
Whether as a Producer, DJ or Artist, Tommie brings a unique enthusiasm to his craft; one that is fueled by his encyclopedic (if not obsessive) knowledge of underground and pop music spanning the last half-century. Also Sunshine sometimes serves as writer on sites such as Huffington Post & has been known to cause an uproar in his firm stance on many issues most won't dare talk about.

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities — the political, the religious, the educational authorities — who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing — forming in our minds — their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable open-mindedness, chaotic, confused vulnerability to inform yourself.
I really feel the variety & the love of music we have in this album…is really what the spirit of House Music is, you know? You could play a Led Zeppelin track after a Marshall Jefferson track; it had this freedom, this absence of formatted structure.
To make something so beautiful out of the chaos of our world is rare. I’m in awe of this album and not afraid to say so. I remember what my life was like before this album and can only dream of what its going to be like after.
When my underground sound became overground around 1995, all the trappings and pressures of dealing with worldwide attention threatened to stall the innovation & excitement of (my) club music, instead of giving the $ more attention than the music I decided to ‘HOLD ON’ to the spirit of discovery…

“It’s times like this that show what people are really made of. Unity is what makes us evolve as people and coming together in the midst of chaos shows exactly how strong we can be against fear & terror.”
